PhonePhrasePrivacy Policy
PhonePhrase is a party word game. We collect the minimum needed to run a multiplayer game and nothing more. There are no user accounts — you play under an anonymous guest identity, and game data is transient.
What we collect
- An anonymous player ID. When you open the app we create a random guest identity so you can join rooms. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number, or any real-world identity.
- The display name you type when creating or joining a room, visible to other players in that room.
- Game content you enter, such as words submitted for Fishbowl rounds or a theme typed for an AI-generated word pack, plus normal game state (teams, scores, rounds).
What we don't do
- No ads, no analytics SDKs, no tracking across apps or websites.
- No contacts, location, photos, microphone, or camera access.
- We never sell or share your data with third parties for marketing.
Where data lives
Game data is stored with our hosting provider, Supabase (Postgres), and is only visible to members of the room you're in. If you use the AI word pack feature, the theme you type is sent to Anthropic's API solely to generate the word list and is not used to train models. These providers are contractually required to protect your data and provide the same or equal protection of the information described in this policy.
Data retention & deletion
Because there are no accounts, there is nothing to sign out of or delete an account for. Rooms and their content are transient game data that expire automatically. To have any remaining data removed sooner, contact us with your room code or display name at contherad@gmail.com and we'll delete it.
Children
PhonePhrase does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The optional "After Dark" word pack is intended for adults.
